Fique
This collection is a product of two months spent in the Colombian mountains at ArteSumapaz, an Artist Residency in the Andes. I fell in love with the country and the fibre Fique, which I learnt to harvest. Then used the fibre to create a range of textile pieces. Fique is a highly sustainable fibre that the indigenous people of Colombia have used for hundreds of years. The community and environment was brimming with beautiful strong women, allowing me to connect to femininity in all its depths, thus this ensemble was born.
